KAINDL wood flooring preserve forests as the covering layer is only 0.6 mm thick. All the wood used, including the substrate material, is from absolutely sustainable forests. In general, tropical woods are not used; they are rather reproduced using a specially developed colour and design creation process.

In principle, KAINDL wood flooring should not be sanded. By the way, a maximum of no more than 5% of wood floors laid today are ever sanded in their lifetime. The reasons are high costs and intensive dust development. Wood dust is classed as a hazardous substance.

Any part that becomes damaged over time is easily and quickly replaced thanks to the problem free laying method.

By the way, many KAINDL wood floors have an availability guarantee of 20 years. This is possible because these floors are extremely light-fast and do not change colour, unlike conventional flooring. Superficial damage is easily remedied using our repair kit.

KAINDL wood floors are continuously tested for their impact on the quality of ambient air. They significantly undercut corresponding directives.

KAINDL wood floors are surprisingly hard-wearing despite their thin real wood surface. Thinner wood layers are significantly more resistant to pressure in comparison to thicker layers. This means that impressions left by high heels, for instance, are much shallower than on conventional floors.

KAINDL wood floors are unique as every plank is different. Highly customised designs are also possible on request, for instance your favourite wood styled in your favourite colour or designed with stripes or ornamental patterns. We can also apply headlines from your favourite read or the label from your red wine or whisky to your floor.

KAINDL wood design floors are extremely lightfast – they will not change colour even under heavy exposure to sunlight. The 20-year availability warranty means you can obtain replacement panels in the event of damage or conversion that are identical in colour to your existing floor.

The effect of sunlight (UV radiation) causes a natural change to the colour of KAINDL wood flooring. These changes can differ considerably depending on the type of wood and the intensity of radiation. It is a characteristic of wood that underlines the natural impression of wood flooring.

No, our wood flooring is not suitable for full-surface gluing to the subfloor. Gluing restricts the wood's natural ability to shrink and swell.

KAINDL wood flooring can be installed trouble-free in conjunction with hot water underfloor heating systems. Current knowledge suggests that KAINDL wood flooring should not be installed in conjunction with electric underfloor heating. Please write to info@floorhouse.at and request the current information leaflet on underfloor heating.

Carpets must be removed from the subfloor before installing KAINDL wood flooring. Carpets can cause excessive movement in the tongue and groove section. Subsequent material fatigue can result in a difference in height and gaps in the joint.

Expansion joints are required in rooms larger than 10m in the longitudinal direction of the planks and wider than 8m in the direction of panel width.

Applying a vapour barrier to a mineral subfloor is mandatory. Omitting the vapour barrier will result in the exchange of moisture with the subfloor and can, after the floor has been used for some time, cause the edges to swell and gaps to form due to damage to the tongue and groove connections.

Wood expands – a 15 mm gap should always be left between panels and walls or other solid elements (heating pipes, pillars). Transition, closing or end profiles should be used between individual rooms.

Any unevenness greater than 3 mm must be ground off or filled.

KAINDL endeavours to find a mutually acceptable solution to any complaint. We therefore kindly ask you to check the panels for visual defects prior to installation. Processed panels are excluded from complaint! Processing must cease immediately as soon as damage is discovered!

Adhesive bonding: wood flooring should be left for >24 hours before it is walked on. Glueless: can be walked on immediately after installation.

The ideal interior climatic conditions for laminate flooring are 20-22°, 50-60% relative humidity. Excessive changes in air pressure can cause slight joint gap formation and deformations.

Not suitable for wet-rooms.

Simply clean your KAINDL wood flooring with a broom or vacuum cleaner. Remove footprints and dirt with a well-wrung cloth. Do not use a wet cloth. Remove larger stains with special stain remover. We recommend KAINDL cleaning solution for laminate flooring.

The quality of KAINDL wood flooring is assured through a continuous quality control process during manufacture by in-house laboratories and external control by Holzforschung Austria (Austrian Timber Research).

No recycled wood is used in KAINDL's HDF and MDF panels.

The wood flooring we supply consists mainly of wood. The emission of formaldehyde from wood in its natural state lies at around 0.005-0.015ppm. The emission of formaldehyde from our finished products is far below legal limit values of Emission Class E1 (< 0.1ppm EN717-1). The formaldehyde levels emitted from our wood flooring immediately after production lie at around 30% of the legally permissible value (0.005-0.03ppm). This emission level is not continuous; after six weeks it is down to just one half of these values.

KAINDL uses UV-based solvent-free lacquers for its real wood flooring.
